
Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Royal College of Physicians
Diana, a clinical haematologist, has held senior posts in the NHS, the civil service, a non-departmental public body and in higher education. Formerly, she was Principal of Mansfield College, Oxford (2002-11); Director of the Public Health Laboratory Service (1993-2002); Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England and Director of Healthcare on the NHS Management Executive (1989-1992). She was an honorary consultant haematologist to the Central Middlesex Hospital. In addition to her current trustee roles as Chair of the Inner Circle Educational Trust and the Royal College of Physicians, she is a member of the Council of the University of Liverpool. Formerly, she chaired the Board of Trustees of Regent’s University London and other non-executive director positions have included the Board of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Council of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; Board of the NHS Blood and Transplant Authority; Trustee of Sue Ryder and Member of the State Honours Committee.
Having previously been a Governor of The Ditchley Foundation for 20 years, Diana is now an Honorary Governor (2020 -).
