On Saturday 6 July 2019 Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, delivered the 55th Ditchley Annual Lecture on “The Future of Multilateralism: Lessons from Finance”. He spoke on a range of topics around the central theme of multilateralism and then took questions from the audience of approaching four hundred people from politics, government, technology, finance, business, the media and academia.
In addition to giving the lecture, Ditchley hosted an informal discussion between Governor Carney and a cohort of outstanding young Canadians from Ditchley’s networks. Their travel to Ditchley was made possible thanks to the generosity of a member of the Canadian Ditchley Board of Directors.
This year the Lecture and the Question and Answer session were both off the record and a transcript will not be produced.
