George spent his legal career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, LLP, where he was a senior partner and founder of the firm’s office in Palo Alto, CA. Initially trained as a chemical engineer, George focused on the intersection of law and technology throughout his career. While leading the firm’s Palo Alto office, he represented some of the world’s largest technology companies. George is a member of the American Law Institute, where he serves as an Advisor to the Institute’s Data Privacy Project. He serves on the Dean’s Council of Columbia University School of Law, where he received his law degree and on the Board of Overseers at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he received his undergraduate degree. George is a founder of the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law and continues to serve on its board of directors. He serves as a director of an artificial intelligence company, ConvergentAI, Inc. and is an investor in a number of start-up companies. George is a director of the American Ditchley Foundation and serves as its Secretary. He is married to Joan and they have three children and five grandchildren.
